Nikki says “I have a feeling of affinity with the little ruru (morepork). He wakes when the night rises; and he calls through the trees in the stillness, keeping company with the moon.” This drawing was inspired by the song “Sister Moon” by Sting. The pounamu worn by the morepork is the symbol for regeneration.
The Wild Honey Art brand reproduces images by Nikki McIvor onto prints, cards and homewares like tea towels, reusable grocery bags and jute tote bags. Our aim - objects that are lovely to use, ecologically responsible and made to last.
Sister Moon
In keeping with our locally-made ethos, our cards are produced just 3km from our base and our envelopes are made by a craftsman just outside of Wellington. They are wrapped in a cellophane wrapper, which is wood-pulp based.
All our products are ecologically friendly and we do everything we can to minimise packaging and plastic.
