The Blue-winged Kookaburra has such a manic cry that it would be virtually impossible to emulate it by whistling, hence the title “Try Whistling This”.
Kookaburras are terrestrial tree kingfishers of a genus native to Australia and southern New Guinea, which grow to between 28–42 cm in length. The name is a loanword from Wiradjuri guuguubarra, onomatopoeic of its call.
The Wild Honey Art brand reproduces images by Nikki McIvor onto prints, cards and homewares like tea towels, reusable grocery bags and jute tote bags. Our aim - objects that are lovely to use, ecologically responsible and made to last.
In keeping with our locally-made ethos, our cards are produced just 3km from our base and our envelopes are made by a craftsman just outside of Wellington. They are wrapped in a cellophane wrapper, which is wood-pulp based.
All our products are ecologically friendly and we do everything we can to minimise packaging and plastic.
